ANONYMITY

For anyone who might view this blog. Why do staff not put real names on their blogs? I can understand it if you're "out" in the blogosphere, commenting on lots of different topics. But this is for our library project. I personally don't want to comment to a nameless (therefore meaningless) blogger.

Can anyone help me here?

Camille

this is an interesting topic. i think blogs and work can be a touchy issue. i'm sure you've heard of people being fired because of something they've written in a blog. not that this would happen at our library (hopefully), but i can understand if people want to blog anonymously. this is an interesting blog about this subject.

Hi Camille!

I understand where you're coming from on this. It can be difficult to know who's who when looking through our blog list.

Rich has a point, though. Many times people here in the states have been fired for blog content. In other countries, worse has happened. I've heard of bloggers in Egypt being jailed for speaking out against the government, for example. It's a shame and just plain stupid, but it happens (unfortunatly). :(
